Summary 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturer who are part of a larger group at their site based in Aberdare, South Wales. The company are well known for investing in their employees and are currently experiencing a period of growth due to additional business which is presenting all employees with a chance to progress within the business.

 

The Role
To repair any breakdown on production equipment, also to carry out P.P.M. schedule, installation of new equipment as required and work on improvement / projects

Duties will include:

  • To repair and maintain site plant.
  • To ensure site is maintained to a high level of reliability, at the lowest effective cost.
  • Ensure issues arising are logged and dealt with in a timely, prioritised manner.
  • To ensure all engineering activity is carried out in a safe and controlled manner, in compliance with all current legislation, and in line with current best practice.
  • To help develop and implement planned maintenance system (both planned and preventative on key equipment).
  • To maintain high engineering standards on site.
  • To undertake continuous improvement projects to raise equipment performance, standards, and eliminate breakdowns, improve performance quality and safety.

 

The Person:

  • Formally trained electrically biased technician
  • Capable of working on own initiative
  • Good working knowledge of AC / DC motors and drives
  • Proven track record of effective fault finding
  • Flexible approach and good team player
  • Experience of heater control instrumentation and thermocouple control
  • Experience of PLC control and fault finding
  • Use to work in a busy manufacturing environment and can handle pressure well
  • Experience of extrusion process
  • Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment
  • Pneumatics fault finding
  • Welding, bearing changing etc.

This role would suit an Engineer, Shift Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer (MS Engineer), Electrical Technician etc.

 

The Package:

  • Salary of up to £30k
  • 31 days holiday
  • Company Pension up to 3% contribution from the company
